Introduction to Pastels and Pastel Pencils

Have you, or someone you know, ever wanted to try pastels but are not sure where to start?

This one-day workshop is an excellent introduction to using pastels and pastel pencils giving you an opportunity to explore and experiment in this medium.

Animals in Pastel

We will work through a series of exercises to develop skill and confidence.  We will practice the skills of drawing, selecting and  mixing colour, blending  and avoiding sludge while creating paintings filled with light.

Suitable for all levels of ability.

All materials are provided.

It may be useful to bring a pencil and notebook.

A one day workshop designed as an introduction to painting animals in pastel.  Having taught this course for seven years I am delighted with its success.  Many past students now produce pet portraits with a high level of skill and some now work professionally. 

In this day I will show you the the skills and techniques ( and a few tricks of the trade ) for producing exceptional animal portraits.
